Herbácea perenne de tallos alados, cuyas hojas y flores son muy perfumadas. En verano y otoño nos brinda abundantes flores que semejan botones blanco-rosados, cambiando luego de color hasta lucir un tono marrón ladrillo. En invierno se seque su parte aérea, rebrotando en primavera. Prospera en suelos permeables y ambientes húmedos. Se luce muy bien en canteros, maceteros, jardineras, humedales y pastizales. Tiene uso medicinal.
Siembra superficial, en sustrato húmedo, con exposición a la luz. Las semillas son pequeñas y apenas deben ser cubiertas con arena o sustrato liviano. Riego con lluvia fina.
En condiciones controladas, bajo protección, es posible la siembra durante todo el año.
Época de siembra a suelo directo desde otoño hasta fin de primavera.
Trasplante de plantines con 4 o 5 hojas a su lugar definitivo, dejando 30 cm de distancia entre plantas.

In summer and autumn, it gives abundant flowers that resemble pinkish-white buds, later changing color to a brick brown hue. It dries during the winter and sprouts again in the spring. It thrives in permeable soils and humid environments. This plant looks great in flower beds, flowerpots, planters, wetlands and grasslands. It has medicinal uses.
